Subject: SAN FRANCISCO POLICE MAKE ARREST IN CHILD LEWD CONDUCT CASE
The Juvenile Division of the San Francisco Police Department arrested a man yesterday, August 20, for attempted lewd conduct involving a juvenile. Members of the Juvenile Division’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC) arrested Steven Glidden, 39, of San Francisco, at about 10:30 A.M. at a café on Balboa Street. Glidden had used an on-line service to meet juvenile boys for lewd purposes. An anonymous tip led to Glidden’s arrest.
Glidden has been charged with Penal Code Section 288(a), attempted lewd conduct with a child under 14 years of age, a felony.
ICAC has a two-fold purpose of education and enforcement in the area of Internet crimes involving the exploitation of minors.
Because of ongoing investigation in this case, a photograph of Glidden will not be released at this time.
