Subject: Arrest In Ten Most Wanted Appeal
San Francisco police have arrested one of the Ten Most Wanted suspects publicized at a police press conference on December 3. Based on an anonymous tip, Inspectors Jim Serna of the Sexual Assault Unit and Brian Ogawa of the Fugitive Apprehension Unit, took Ronald McFadin, 46, a violent and dangerous sex offender, into custody. The tip led the inspectors to a residence on Corbett Avenue in the Upper Market area. They knocked on the door and were admitted by a man who led police to McFadin in bed. McFadin was taken into custody without incident.
McFadin faces charges of sexual battery, failing to register as a sex offender, and felony probation violation.
The police department commends the media in publicizing these ten suspects, which most likely lead to the rapid apprehension of the suspect. The police department also commends the public for its response to this appeal.
The latest subject in the Ten Most Wanted is Samuel Jones, 37, wanted for armed robbery in San Francisco, as well as felony warrants out of Contra Costa County and Gilroy. Jones is also the suspect in a robbery committed in Campbell. Police have reason to believe that he is currently in the East Bay.
