Subject: Witnesses Sought in New Year's Assault
San Francisco police are seeking witnesses to an early morning New Year’s Day assault that occurred at about 2 A.M. in front of the Galleria, Henry Adams and Kansas streets, following a New Year’s Eve party at that location.
Several Asian suspects set upon the victim, John Nguyen, 24, of San Jose, following an altercation. They beat him with a bottle and a tire iron, rendering him unconscious. The suspects fled the scene as officers arrived. Mr. Nguyen remains in intensive care at San Francisco General Hospital.
It is possible the suspects fled in several vehicles, including a green Pontiac Firebird, a silver Jaguar, a red Lexus and a white Lexus. There is no further suspect information at this time.
Any one who witnessed this incident or who has any information is urged to contact the General Work Section, 553-1141 during business hours, or the Operations Center, 553-1071, at all other times.
