Subject: San Francisco Police Investigate Murder/Suicide
The San Francisco Police Department’s Homicide Detail is investigating a murder/suicide incident that began in the area of Cesar Chavez St. and Sanchez St., this evening around 7:22 P. M. The victim, a 47-year-old male, was in the area of the above location, when the suspect walked up to him and stabbed him repeatedly in the head, neck and upper torso. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, a 41-year-old male, walked away and got into his vehicle. A witness to the stabbing followed the suspect and called police. The suspect was lost for a short time but was later located at his residence on the 2200 block of 42nd Ave. Officers arrived and located the suspect in his backyard holding a knife to himself. The suspect admitted killing the victim and then stabbed himself in the chest. Officers and paramedics administered first aid but the suspect died at the scene. Victim and suspect were known to each other."
