Subject:     Update In Shooting Attack On SFPD Officers


A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting attack on two officers Saturday evening, April 10, 2004 in the Bayview district.  This senseless act of violence claimed the life of eight-year veteran Officer Isaac Espinoza, 29.  The second victim, Officer Barry Parker, 38, who has been in the Department for nearly four years, was treated for his injuries at San Francisco General Hospital and released.  In addition to the man in custody, there are several persons currently of interest to the police in connection with this incident.  Police are not releasing the name of the man in custody at this time since this could jeopardize the ongoing investigation.

The police department is still seeking information regarding this fatal shooting. Persons with information are urged to contact the Confidential Tip Line at 575-4444.
