Subject:     Rare And Valuable Violin Stolen


Yesterday, a very rare and valuable violin was stolen from the trunk of a locked vehicle. The violin is an 18th Century violin valued at $175,000.00.  The violin was inside a blue case. The vehicle had been parked all day in a private parking lot located on the 1300 block of Webster St. Upon the victim’s return to the vehicle, she discovered her vehicle had been towed from the lot by a private tow company.  The victim picked up her vehicle and discovered the violin to be missing, along with several other personal items.

Police are pursuing leads and trying to identify the suspect(s) in this case. Anyone with any information on the violin’s whereabouts is asked to contact the police at 415-553-9117 or the Confidential Tip Line at 415-575-4444.
