Subject:     San Francisco Police Arrest Three-Time Bank Robber

San Francisco Police arrested a 44-year-old San Francisco man yesterday, February 14, shortly after he robbed the same bank he had robbed twice before.  The suspect, Duane Nolan, entered the Wells Fargo Bank at 1560 Van Ness Avenue shortly after 3:00 P.M. and threatened a teller, announcing he would shoot her unless he handed over the money.  After the teller complied, the suspect left the bank.

The security officer and the bank manager, who, along with several bank employees recognized Nolan from the previous two robberies, followed the suspect and tackled him to the ground, detaining him until police arrived.  Police took Nolan into custody and recovered all the money taken in the robbery.

The Robbery Detail acknowledges the assistance of alert bank employees who recognized the suspect, and the quick response of the arresting officers.

Nolan is currently being held on one count of robbery, one count of burglary, and the violation of a stay away order.
