Subject:     San Francisco Police Alert Residents To Burglar Posing As Utility Man


San Francisco Police are alerting residents of the Richmond and Taraval districts to a burglar posing as a Water Department employee in order to gain access to a residence.  The suspect, who is dressed in a gray shirt with some type of ID card attached, states that he needs to check water pressure.  Once he gains access he steals cash and jewelry.  Victims have usually been elderly.

 

The suspect is described as in his 30s or 40s, 5’ 8” with a heavy build, brown hair and eyes.  He is Hispanic appearing and speaks with an accent.
