Subject: $20,000 Reward In Fatal Hit and Run Case
The Office of the Mayor and the family of the victim in a hit and run fatality last February are offering a combined reward of $20,000 ($10,000 from the Mayor’s Office and $10,000 from the family) for information leading to the apprehension and prosecution of the person(s) responsible for the death.
The victim, Benjamin Weaver, was crossing Bayshore Boulevard at Silver Avenue on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at approximately 11:30 P.M. when he was struck by the driver of a vehicle. A photograph of a van similar to the suspect van is available in the Public Affairs Office or accompanying this press release on the SFPD’s Web site, sfgov.org/police. (The suspect van may have round headlights instead of the square ones pictured.)
