Subject: San Francisco Police Arrest Suspect In Laptop Robberies
Today, April 12, San Francisco Police arrested an Oakland man, Jeremy Benjamin, 21, in connection with a series of armed robberies in the Western Addition that targeted individuals carrying laptop computers.
Over the past two weeks, five robberies of persons with laptop computers have occurred in the area of McAllister and Laguna streets. In four of the incidents, the suspect approached the victim, brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s computer. The victims complied in all of the cases, promptly surrendering their property. None of the victims were injured.
Benjamin was booked on several counts of robbery. Two of Benjamin’s associates, Calvin Johnson, 19, and Victor Guy, 21, both of San Francisco, were also arrested and were booked on weapons violations.
The Robbery Detail credits the outstanding efforts of the officers of the Gang Task Force and Northern Station in the successful resolution of this investigation.
