San Francisco Police Release Composite Sketch In Commuter Carjacking Incident January 09

San Francisco Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect in a casual commuter carjacking incident that occurred on Tuesday, January 9. In that incident, the female victim picked up the suspect and another passenger at the casual commuter location in Hercules at about 8:00 A.M. When one passenger got out of the victim's car at the Transbay Terminal in San Francisco, the suspect passenger remained in the car and ordered the victim to drive on various streets, threatening her with what he claimed was an explosive device that he displayed to the victim. The victim managed to escape from the car at Fremont and Howard streets, at which point the suspect drove off. The vehicle, still missing, is a white 1995 Acura Integra, with a black Yakima bike rack on the roof, California license 3KIT992.

The suspect is a white or Hispanic male, 30 years old, 200-220 lbs., blue eyes, light complexion, with a two-days' growth of facial hair. He was last seen wearing a royal blue jumpsuit and a dark blue knit cap with a white stripe around the edge. The suspect was described as having a speech pattern indicating that he may have been under the influence or is developmentally disabled.

The sketch of the suspect is posted on the SFPD's Web site, sfgov.org/police.

Anyone with information is urged to call Inspector Steven Mulkeen, Robbery Section,

553-1201 or, after hours, the Operations Center, 553-1071.
