San Francisco Police Department To Participate In USF Emergency Response Symposium October 15


The San Francisco Police Department will be the co-sponsor with the University of San Francisco in an emergency response symposium to be held on Monday, October 15, at USF, 2130 Fulton Street, McLaren Hall, Room 250, from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. The symposium, entitled Emergency Response to Violence at Academic Institutions, will examine violence on campuses, including the campuses at Columbine and Virginia Tech, and what can be learned from those incidents in order to enhance local planning and response strategies. The symposium will also discuss how law enforcement can best collaborate and communicate with school administrations.

SFPD Deputy Chief of Administration Charles Keohane, SFPD Homeland Security Unit Captain Sandra Tong and Captain Rich Corriea of the Police Academy will join participants that include USF International Institute of Criminal Justice Leadership Tony Ribera; USF Director of Security Dan Lawson; and California State University system, Chief of Public Safety Nate Johnson.
