San Francisco Police Arrests Juvenile Suspect in Attempted Murder and Sexual Assault Incident

San Francisco Police have arrested the suspect in an attempted murder and the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl on March 8, 2008 on the 3100 block of Cesar Chavez. Taken into custody, Friday, March 21, at about 1:00 A.M. was a 17-year-old West Sacramento resident. He was arrested in Elk Grove, California, by the Elk Grove Police Department and was transported to the San Francisco by SFPD Mission Station officers.

In the March 8 incident, police responded to a report of shots fired and found the victim on the street with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim had been raped inside a residence on Cesar Chavez and, when she escaped from the building, the suspect ran after her and shot her before fleeing. Working on investigative leads, Inspectors from the General Work and Sex Crimes details working in conjunction with officers from Mission Station were able to identify the suspect.

The suspect remains in custody at the Youth Justice Center on multiple felony counts, including attempted murder, sexual assault and robbery.
