Police Academy Graduation April 25

The San Francisco Police Department will be holding a graduation ceremony for the 219th Academy Class on Friday, April 25, at the Scottish Rite Auditorium, 2850-19th Avenue at Sloat Blvd. at 6:00 P.M. There are 43 recruits graduating from the class that began September 24, 2007, including six women. Graduates range in age from 22 to 46 years old. Various languages are represented among the graduates, including Spanish, Russian, Arabic, German, Tagalog, and Armenian.

The graduates include a former member of the Swiss Army and a former professional archaeologist.

The 219th Class will have completed 31 weeks of Academy training. Following the graduation, the newly sworn officers will begin a 17-week field-training program at the Department's district stations.
