San Francisco Police School Resource Officers Sponsor Middle School Community Service Project May 28

San Francisco Police Department School Resource Officers will be sponsoring a community service project in which 30 sixth-grade students from James Denman Middle School will participate in a garden restoration project on Wednesday, May 28, at Ingleside Police Station,

1 John Young Lane at San Jose Ave., starting at 9:30 A.M. The project will include weeding, planting and cleaning, and will be followed by a hosted barbecue.

The event is part of the ongoing School Resource Officers Gang Resistance Education and Training (GREAT) Program. GREAT is a school-based, officer-instructed program to help deter young students from gang-related activity and violence, and to help them develop a positive relationship with law enforcement.
