San Francisco Police To Participate In National Night Out

On Tuesday, August 5, the San Francisco Police Department will again participate in the annual National Night Out event that promotes community efforts to enhance public safety. Each of the ten district police stations will coordinate district events at a location within the district, as follows:

6-8 PM: Bocce ball games with officers

Southern

Gene Friend Rec Center, 270-6th St.

6-8:30 PM: Events at Rec Center

Bayview

Town Center, Oakdale at 3rd St.

5-8 PM: Barbecue; Canine Unit demo; Talking police car

Mission

Mission Station Community Room

5-9 PM: Gang Task Force and Robbery personnel on hand to answer questions; Canine Unit demo; light refreshments

Northern

Hayes Valley Rec Center, 699 Hayes

5-8 PM: Resource fair, public safety presentations, entertainment, light refreshments

Park

Boys and Girls Club, 1950 Page

3-7 PM: Games and refreshments

Richmond

Richmond Station Community Room

6-8 PM: Crime prevention safety presentations; refreshments

Ingleside

Ingleside Station Community Room

6-8 PM: Tours of station; barbeque

Taraval

Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center 3925 Noriega at 48th Ave.

5-7 PM: Barbecue, speakers, games

Tenderloin

Tenderloin Recreation Center, 570 Ellis

2-7:30 PM Games for kids (2-5 PM); refreshments; live music; raffle for adults; safety certificates awarded to children
