San Francisco Police Arrest Nine Suspects In Weekend Robberies

San Francisco Police arrested nine suspects in five robbery incidents over this past weekend.

In the earliest incident, Saturday, December 6, at approximately 2:30 in the morning, an on-duty SFPD motorcycle officer traveling on 4th Street saw three men assaulting a man on the corner of Howard and 4th streets. The officer immediately stopped and approached the suspects. He was able to detain one of the suspects who, with police backup, was taken into custody. The other two suspects escaped on foot.

The victim, a 32-year-old San Francisco male, told police that all three suspects began punching him and stole property he was carrying in his jacket. Taken into custody was Cristino Castillo, 21, of San Francisco. He was charged with robbery and conspiracy. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Late that night at approximately 11:50 P.M., officers responded to Mission and Onondaga streets and arrested four juveniles who had assaulted and robbed a 25-year-old San Francisco man as he was waiting for a bus. After the attack and robbery, the suspects boarded a Muni bus. Officers boarded the bus, where they took the suspects into custody after the victim identified them as his attackers. The juveniles, who range in age from 15 to 17, are all San Francisco residents. They remain in custody on charges of robbery, assault, and conspiracy.

On Sunday, December 7, at approximately 1:15 A.M., police responded to a call of an assault on the 400 block of Geneva Ave. The suspect, a 16-year-old male, had punched the victim, a San Francisco male, 15, and had stolen his cell phone outside the Balboa BART station. A short time later, police located the suspect at San Jose Avenue and Niagara Street and took him into custody. He was charged with robbery and assault.

Later on December 7, at 12 noon, two San Francisco male juvenile suspects, 14 and 16 years old, were arrested after robbing a 21-year-old San Francisco man at gunpoint at Mission and Kingston streets. Police located the suspects at Mission and Randall streets, and after a foot chase, took the suspects into custody. They were charged with robbery and conspiracy.

Also on Sunday, police arrested Josue Dominguez, 19, of San Francisco, in a robbery that occurred on the 3300 block of Mission Street at approximately 1:45 P.M. In this incident, the suspect, armed with a handgun, demanded property from two male victims, 25 and 31 years old, who were standing on the sidewalk. Dominguez was taken into custody without incident on Folsom at 20th streets. He was charged with two counts of robbery.
