| Monte Carlo Safety Awareness Vehicle |
The Ripon Police Department, in conjunction with the Menlo Park Police, hosted an emergency vehicle display show on Saturday, October 4, 2003 in Ripon, California. Our Department entered a specialized emergency class with a 2001 Chevrolet marked Monte Carlo coupe that is currently utilized as a safety awareness vehicle. Althoughall components of this vehicle are stock, its appearance reflects that of a NASCAR race car. The Department received a second place award for this entry. |

On September 30, 2003, the Western States Integrated Law Enforcement Expo also know as C.O.P.S. West was held in Ontario, California. This convention is the largest law Enforcement tradeshow on the west coast and is open to delegates from all portions of the globe. The San Francisco Police Department was honored by receiving the first place award for "Best of Show" in the police cruiser category. Although simple in design and graphics, the S.F.P.D. marked prowl car was a showstopper as member of the Idaho Police Department committee voted. |
