San Francisco Police Arrest Two Robbery Suspects In Two Muni Incidents
San Francisco police arrested two suspects in two separate robbery incidents that occurred on September 10 and 11 on the Number 9 Muni bus on the morning commute route.
In the September 10 incident, the victim, a 23-year-old San Francisco man, was standing at the back of a southbound No. 9 Express at 7:45 A.M. using his cell phone to search the Internet when the suspect, a 19-year-old San Francisco man, reached over the victim’s shoulder as the bus reached Brookdale and Santos Avenues, snatched the phone from the victim’s hand, and rushed off the bus. The victim followed the suspect off the bus. The victim offered to give the suspect cash to get the phone back and opened his wallet. The suspect snatched cash from the wallet. Fearing that the suspect may have had a gun, the victim went home and called police.
Police units responded and located the suspect based on the victim’s description on Santos Street. Police found the victim’s phone in the suspect’s pants pocket. Taken into custody was Jaron Moore. He was charged with robbery.
In the September 11 incident, a 31-year-old San Francisco man commuting to work also on the same No. 9 bus line was typing on his iPhone and listening to his headphones. When the bus stopped at Ordway street, the suspect grabbed the phone and got off the rear exit door. The victim followed and chased the suspect and called 9-1-1 using another cell phone. Advising Dispatch of the suspect’s location, police units responded and did a search of the area. Based on the broadcast description, a police unit located the suspect crouched on the step of a truck trailer, on the 1500 block of Bayshore Boulevard. Police found the victim’s iPhone in the suspect’s pants pocket. Taken into custody was Cameron Williams. He was charged with robbery and a probation violation.
The victims in both incidents positively identified the suspects in each case.
