Best Wishes for the upcoming Lunar New Year! The San Francisco Police Department wants you to know that your safety and the safety of your employees remains a top priority during this time of the Lunar New Year.
The San Francisco Police Department, continues its close collaboration with San Francisco SAFE(Safety Awareness for Everyone), as we have for many years. We are working together to identify any incidents of extortion, robbery and burglary, through a vigorous public awareness campaign. We particularly encourages the active participation of merchants to quickly report acts of extortion and any other crime that comes to your attention. We are committed to immediately investigate any reports of these crimes and to provide swift and direct enforcement of the law.
Please keep the following in mind: if anyone attempts to demand money from you with specific or implied threat that any harm will come to you, your employees or your business, please call 9-1-1 immediately. If you wish to report an incident, but want to remain anonymous, call either (415) 553-8090, or the S.F.P.D. Confidential Tipline at (415) 575-4444. To report quality of life issues or to reach other city departments please call 3-1-1
If you have any specific questions about extortion, I strongly encourage you to call the SFPD Gang Task Force at (415) 553-1401 during business hours, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
We can accomplish a great deal by continuing to work together. Our cooperative efforts will go a long way to helping make this time of celebration free form fear and crime.
