As part of the 2014 Special Olympics events, San Francisco police officers will participate in the Special Olympics, Flame of Hope Torch Run on Monday, June 23 beginning in Union Square at 9:00 A.M.
The 8-mile run will proceed to the downtown area, the Embarcadero, and Fisherman’s Wharf, concluding on Union Street. Police Chief Greg Suhr will begin the run with the torch, which will be passed on to SFPD officers along the route.
The Flame of Hope torch run event will continue on to the Special Olympics Summer Games, beginning on June 28, in Davis, California.
